The large 45 degree bevel creates a sensation of floating to emphasize display. Ideal for entertaining guests before dinner, you’ll find that the lighter color of most cheeses creates a nice contrast to the dark rich color of walnut. On the other hand, cherry’s warm color is inviting and its end grain particularly pleasant. The Bevel serves as an easy grip for picking up the board. The surface of the board is approximately 9 inches by 9 inches.
Walnut is characterized by the rich dark hues in the heartwood and its golden coloration in its sapwood, sometimes also with subtle undertones of purple, whereas cherry is notable for its orange to fiery red heartwood and paler, more yellow sapwood. In terms of hardness, walnut is harder than cherry. Cherry and walnut have a rich history in furniture making.
