Ideas Competition: How can the CED community generate design activism? How can we engage the community? Activism in Environmental Design Education calls students and faculty to submit ideas for: 1) community-based design projects, 2) courses on design activism, 3) community-based events, and/or 4) any other types of social engagement in CED. Proposals may take any form (writing, graphics, etc) but should be short (maximum 1 page). Selected proposals will be presented and discussed at the conference. Educating Activists Conference: This conference will bring together leading educators from community-based design programs across the country. Presentations will explore changing approaches to design activism and consider their relevance to the CED. Speakers include: Margaret Crawford, Greig Crysler, Maurice Cos, Steve Luoni, Martin Felsen, Terry Schwarz, Deborah McKoy, Sanjit Sethi, and Matt Miller.
