Make Art + Help Reforest Patagonia

Decomosaico are decorative do-it-yourself wooden wall art tiles designed by Ezequiel Farca and manufactured by Masisa Mexico.

Masisa’s environmental practices and policies for wood products have made them pioneers in sustainable forestry. All the raw materials used in the process of production of its panels come from certified and sustainable sources.

What’s more, for each Decomosaico package purchased, Masisa will plant a tree in through Reforestemos Patagonia (Reforest Patagonia).

You’ll be given a code to see your tree’s exact GPS coordinates and view the tree in Goolge Maps. If you wish, you can even tag your tree with your name and photo.

Reforestemos Patagonia is a nonprofit, public-private alliance that unites people of different backgrounds, cultures, and nationalities with a single objective: to recover Patagonia, one of the world’s most important ecosystems. Patagonia is one of the world’s greatest natural treasures—admired for both its ecological significance and its extraordinary beauty. However, in the last 100 years, forest fires and human intervention have destroyed more than 7.5 million acres of pristine wilderness.

One of the region’s worst fires occurred in December 2011, destroying 42,500 acres in Torres del Paine National Park. This tragedy inspired Reforest Patagonia, the largest native-species reforestation campaign in Chile’s history. In 2012, the goal is to plant more than 1 million trees in Torres del Paine and other national parks and reserves in Chile.
