The Teach Twice book enhances the education of two children and two communities worlds apart.
Teach Twice is a social venture that educates children and their communities through stories and the exchange of culture.
Founder & CEO Trevor Burbank, along with friend Jason Wen, were looking for a way to improve education around the world, while empowering those they served. The idea hit Jason: what does everyone have regardless of where you live, what you have, or who you are? A unique story. From that moment on the idea took off: a team was built, a plan was set in place and stories began to come in.
Teach Twice reaches out to communities around the world and works to create a children’s story based on local culture--or arranges to translate an already-existing book. They print and sell the book back home, and send the proceeds to build schools or send kids to class in the community where the story originated.
Buy a book here... and build a school there.
In purchasing a Teach Twice book you are provided with unique cultural stories that allow your imagination to travel to another part of the world and get a better look at what life may be like there. Alongside this experience you are also employing writers + illustrators and supporting educational development of the place from which the book came, while purchasing a sustainable and full-circle product.
